CPI-M against Narmada Bachao Andolan
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI-M politburo member and CITU all India president E Balanandan today expressed himself strongly against the demand of the Narmada Bachao Andolan to shelve the Narmada-sarovar project. "Giving up the project would adversely affect central India,"he said at a news conference here, reports UNI.
Balanandan said it was not in the interests of the people to sabotage the entire project. However, there was nothing wrong if the agitators sought to rectify the flaws in the project.
