Pro-dam activists rap NBA for violating SC order

New Delhi, July 29: Pro-dam activists from Gujarat today said the Narmada Bachao Andolan's (NBA) agitation against the Sardar Sarovar project violated the Supreme Court order through `a misinformation campaign'.
Activists of `Friends of Sardar Sarovar' condemned the activities of the NBA at a meeting saying they were ``in violation of the Supreme Court order'' and were conducting ``a misinformation campaign to serve their own personal vested interests''.
The meeting was addressed among others by veteran social worker Chunnaibhai Vadhiya, Krishna Prasad Patel of Narmada Abhiyan, Dr Sudershan Iyengar of Gujarat institute of development research and Mumbai mayor Chandra Kant Bakshi, a release here said.
The participants highlighted the benefits that the Narmada dam would accrue, particularly to the drought affected areas of Mehsana, Saurashtra and Kutch.
